Question uneven line lay on spool

can anyone tell me why there are uneven line lay on spool?

1. *line lay mostly on top of spool and gradually decrease to the bottom

2. *line lay mostly on bottom and gradually decrease to the top

3. *line lay mostly in the middle of spool, gradually decrease from both ends

4. *line lay mostly @ both end and form a concave shape in middle

correct me if i am wrong i think it has something to do with the amount of washers/spacers on the shaft of the reel..

Muzzaboy is correct.

1. *line lay mostly on top of spool and gradually decrease to the bottom
-If the line is more at the top add and extra washer.

2. *line lay mostly on bottom and gradually decrease to the top
-If the line is toward the bottom then remove washer.

3 and 4 i wouldnt have a clue.

Brim Boy

This site describes your situation on the uneven line on the spool
http://www.plat.co.jp/MEGABASS/REEL/...300_ima003.gif

and this site show its demostration on how to adjust it
http://www.plat.co.jp/MEGABASS/REEL/...300_ima004.gif

Im sure most new daiwa reels have extra bushing available that come with the reel however, the older reels im not too sure.

Hope that helps

i've had 4. before when using too heavy a backing with light braid
when you do this the heavy mono just doesn't sit flat enough due to its large diameter relative to a small spool and then when you put your light braid on top it just follws the contour already made no matter how good your reel is at laying line

Shimano's dont lay braid properly even there top end spin reels dont...Cheaper style reels are not designed like the daiwa's.. People can argue black and blue the point, it wont change my opinion, daiwa has spent the time and perfected the lay of braid...
