Olympus camera's

Hey all,

I am looking at getting a new waterproof camera. Im considering getting an Olympus tough 6010. I have looked at the specs and was wondering if anyone has this camera and could show some photos taken with it.

I am aware there is a previous post on the Olympus 6000 tough... but i was interested to hear opinions on the 6010.

Also, does anyone know the storage space on these camera's?

Thanks to any that can help. Im not really interested in opinions on other camera's more just the one indicated, however, if anyone has suggestions for a really good waterproof camera less than or equal to $500, that i would be able to get arounf newcastle without having to order online, feel free to advertise.

Cheers,
Dom

The 6010 takes xd or microsd cards. xd cards go up to 2Gb and you can get micro sd up to 16gb. if you are using the sd card you need an MASD-1 adapter. if you get an microSD card larger then 4Gb, you may have to update the firmware in order for it to work properly.

It also has 45mb of internal memory.

On a 2Gb card at highest resolution I'd say you'd probably get around 400 jpeg images. Keep in mind that this is 12MP, which is damn huge. realistically most of the time you can easily get away with using 4 or 5MP image settings.

At 5MP you can take 2592 x 1944 px images, which for viewing on the computer is more then enough, and you can still print it at photo quality (320dpi) 8x6 inches.

the only time you will really need more than a 2gb card for general use is if you want to take long videos at high resolution.
