lost on the swan

hi all. just wondering if it is normal to catch smaller bream on lures than bait ?or is it my in experinence i have been strictly lures for 6 months now for little to no results. i finally gave in,tied some stinky bait on and within 15 mins three big fish(for the swan)35 and 38 cm. i feel like i will miss out on "that big one"without the dreaded bait. there is a 3kg plus somewhere in the swan waiting for me.

Practice makes perfect.

Bait fishing your usually waiting for the fish to come to you. Boring.
Go searching for the fish- boat helps, there are plenty of spots on the swan where its not hard to catch bream after bream. Finding the bigger ones is usually another story but a fish is a fish. The more time you spend on the water with lures is going to make you a better fisherman. Resorting to bait just to catch a fish undoes all your hard work.

your choice

I have had awesome sessions on the flats around burswood, at freshwater bay, up on the flats at ascot, the sticks, south perth flats... its a matter of just going there and fishing some days! Sorry to rub it all in!

just when i see a pattern it all changes! Have been fishing Blackwall and Freshie lately with the the dirty water and all and doing ok till last w/end where we couldn't raise a scale. Gonna have a look up a bit this w/end.
Then again it could just be Nathan....

Mate don't give up on the lures! I would never resort back to bait. You have to persist with the lures until you find one to work and build up around that and don't resort back to bait because you may think its good and all to get those fish but in my opion your just cheating yourself and all you work is being throw out the window. but its my opion and you don't have to listen if you don't want
