heartland 2500 or sol 2500

just wondering what you would choose as a plastic
and small hardbody reel. right now i'm undecided on what reel to get.
i know allot about sols as they are a popular reel
but the heartlands are not as talked about as sols but seem to be
just as good if not better. I'll mainly be using it for bream, flatties
and most other bread and butter species on plastics and small hb's.

all replies are greatly appreciated.

I own both reels in the 2000 size.

They are very similar reels, I think the Heartland has more CRBBs than the Sol but to be honest both are good reels. they feel the same to me

Havnt used the Heartland, as im still using my Sol 2000 that was purchased over 2 years ago now. Im sure the 2500 will be just as good

They are great value for money..

heartland just not as popular because it looks like crap, plus it hasnt been ouf for tha long (compared to sol. as far as i know, the main difference is that the sol has 7 bearings, 3 of them crbb's, and the heartland has 8 bearings, 7 of which are crbb's.

would be assumed that the heartland would be beefier then, but the difference would be marginal.

imo, go the sol

I fished both reels quite alot yesterday and whilst swapping between the Sol and the Heartland I noticed the Heartland feels more solid and smoother without any (noticably) added weight

I would chose the Heartland. (unless you really like the look of the Sol)
