braid/leader

does it matter if u tie a lighter leader on then u have braid
e.g 6lb braid with 3 lb leader

Not at all . I use mainly 6 pound braid and Vary my leader quite a bit from mono to fluro..

you can but you should make sure the difference between the two lines isnt too great or some of your knots may end up slipping.
im going 4lb braid onto 2 lb leader at the moment and its doing the job perrfectly

G'day

I havent noticed any problems and i've gone from 8lb braid down to 3lb leader attached with a double uni knot. I've found for better security in the knot, i increase the number of twists for the lighter line.
But generally, i use 6-4lb line, connected through 4-2lb leader. The only issues i have are dodgy knots caused by operator error.

also try and tie knots that are slim in shape for example the albrite knot. i used to use the double uni knot but found the leader knot would sometimes flick the ferals and cause a few cases of line twist but with the albrite knot i havent had to deal with the problem at all just about.
