Loomis SJR720 IMX?

Hey,

Noticed one of these puppies for $345 at a stocktake sale,

Thinking of getting it for shore bashing in tighter spots where the 7' is just a bit too long.

Opinions??

Cheers

Nice rod, tippy but very ballsy blank. Good price, but the build quality is what lets the name and IMX graphite down a bit.

Still, a very nice rod that you'll enjoy fishing with, works well with HB's and SP's, better with slightly heavier stuff, like 1/16th plus. Plenty of beef for white knuckle fights whilst light and sweet for finesse too.

Thanks Shortlite, what's the issue with the build quality? Lower class components?

1/16th upwards might be an issue as I tend to fish down around the 1/32 mark when I can and particularly when I'm planning to use this rod where smaller rivers don't require the distance anyway though :S

Also noticed a SR781 IMX for just under $400 but don't know whether 6'6" will allow the better access I require?

Does 1/2 a foot make much difference in peoples opinion, only based on room to cast? obviously differences in distance etc...

Thanks
