Mate i have a 4m hornet and its plenty stable with 2 blokes up the front running arround.
I also think that the 385 explore would be worth a look at, iv never been in one but i looked into getting one about 12months ago, nice and wide and you can pick a bare hull up for around $2000 brand new.

Never got to see how your project finished up. Did you keep adding to that thread you started? Love to see the finished product if possible.

get a zodiac!
lol only hoking but i have a 2.6 meter with a blow up floor which goes to 800 psi, too people can stand and cast in it move around and stand on one side and it barely even moves, its awesome, looking for an attachable mount for the front (seen some on ebay for different brands) to mount an electric, then it will be a full machine,

Depends very much on the make, but you'd be hard to go past the Makocraft. The ET 380 is amazingly stable for the style of boat.

This is probably the most stable thing under four metres.

Hey
I own a 385 explorer and it surprised the hell out of me, with how stable it is!. I can fish 2 guys up the front or on one side and it hardly moves...I'm a pretty big bloke and the other guys i fish with arent tiny tots either! I have everything i need in it and its powered by a 25hp motor, for long trips up the rivers here (60-70k's of travelling) i got a duel fuel tank system set up and that works a treat with plenty of fuel left over on return. I think from memory the beam on it is 1.8m, which is fairly roomy considering its only a 3.85m boat. Its got a 100l plumbed livewell up front, with a circulating system, sounders, and electric motor. Its a sweet rig for rivers/lakes and i've even got snapper out of it on a good day outside. FF

I have owned a four metre Hornet and have been in both size explorers and Mako Crafts.....The Mako crafts are easliy a better hull...Drier, plane at a lower speed, and heaps more stable (2m beam).....boom
