hey,
just upgraded my 15 yammy to brand new 25 yammy, Runs like a dream.
When i was buying this motor i looked at the yamaha cv/enduro models, i was wondering if anyone uses one of these? the dealer said there more for farming etc.
I don't think i would of got one but just interested if anyone uses them
theres a picture aswell.

yamaha cv 30hp 2cyl

Hey Goldfish.
Had a new one on the back of a polycraft 4 years ago, never again, but i only say this as it was a real pig to start cold 13- 18 pulls. Got a marine mechanic to look at it could'nt find anything wrong & told me sometimes with the more agricultrul style you get cold start problems. once it was warm would start 1st pull. Now the 3 cyl version apparently has a very good track record & i know a couple of people who have this model & are well pleased with it.

I have a 30hp cv30 on my hornet and it has served me well, cost me $2900 brand new. I have had it for four years and have not had one ounce of trouble with it. Takes a couple of pulls to get her going when cold but nothing like 18 , maybe 3 or 4. Suits my needs and costs bugger all to run.Mine is not an enduro model

yammie enduro

I previously had a 2 stroke but a mate has the 40 enduro on his hornet. it is basically a bare arse no frills motor. it is reliable but chews the juice being a straight carb model. cheap though to purchase so if you don't mind chewing juice and smoky/oil smell then no problem.
personally never go back to the 2 stroke, 4 stroke (or new gen 2 stroke [etec, optimax etc]) is more environmentally friendly.
just my opinion.
