Talking 1st Flats Bream

G'day ,

Fished the frankland flats with a bit of sucess in the last few days. Enjoyed my first hb lure caught bream, drifting and casting the flats using a Scorp 68. The 32 cm bream attacked the 68, it was a whole new feeling. Unreal I'm hooked, caught a two more on 25cm and the other 28cm the next morning, all fish I put back. It felt extra good as a few blokes soaking prawns watched on, they soon up and left. The fish were pretty quiet, but I think the reason being maybe my inablitiy to locate the bream and my technique, as the conditions were great. It would help with some polarized sunnies and a sea anchor. There was plenty of action around with bait fish being round up by something in the pass between the two inlets. I was curious to know whether the bream would be more abundant in deeper water rather than the flats now its winter?

Picked up a couple more bream with the SPs off sandy, all size and all put back.

Just picked up a new okuma epix tx-601 SPL at the sale at urban angler sale for $105, interested in any feed back abot this rod?

Cheers.
