seen todays west?

In todays west in the fishing reports it tells of the mad session the boys had, naming the location and everything.

I was phoned by 3 concerned anglers who asked me not to put the location in my mag in the reports, si I left it out, just wondered who told the west?

Wouldn't be hard for a reporter to get it from the site Ira.

DohDohDohDoh

Lets just hope there wasn't too much info on how it was done in there, I don't think the bait boys would of had the same luck we had.

Bloody hell. they are the stupidest pricks ever!
Mate last winter that place got raped worse than most would believe. Not only is the river rooted due to fish kills, we also have inconsiderate indivduals who not oly take more than the bag limit, but undersize fish aswell. Last year we got to the point where we were abusing these individuals because fisheries did nothing.
Now we have bloody newspapers telling every fisherman in the state that this area is going off and also telling them how it was done. The people who run these sections of the paper are from tackle stores. All they care about is boosting there sales.
I appreciate how much effort Ira has put into not revealing this spot. but to see that a different media source has ruined it, Infuriates me to say the least.
i can just about assure you that you wont be able to get a spot down there this weekend!
Oh well

Dave

Guys no offence but gees there was 7 boats and 10 guys fishing off the shore down there on Sat, it was hardly a secret, like I said if you don't want tackle stores to get hold of stuff like that dont post pics with backgrounds in!

Now remember a few months back guys having a go at me for blurring back grounds out of my pics? Well now you all know why I do it.

It's not about being secreative, anyone who takes the time to ask me questions will know that I'm happy to share all the info I know, Geoff P will vouch for that......

Yeah ira, I see what your getting at...
But, its just common sense by the Tackle stores not to mention exact spots, techniques, etc...
This isn't any different to the add about eating bream. If anything its worse, coz that place will get absolutely hammered this weekend, and any fish caught aint gonna go back i can assure you of that!
We tried to blur the pics but couldn't figure it out with the software we were using. But Oh well! What can we do now!

I just went and had a read - it cant have been one of mine, because it was far too accurate - rofl.

Seriously, its hardly a state secret. Traffic was almost stopped on the bridge because of the amount of people standing up there, boats were parked bumper to bumper and the photos were posted on a site with probably 500 WA members and a large but unknown number of visitors.

I've just read the DohDohDoh reports.
They are perfect. It gave away all the right info without letting the spot out of the bag!
Why cant other reports do that. Well done to ira and the others for such a good reports system!

just as a matter of interest the "other" fishing newspaper reports
"excellent catches of black bream between 1-2 kg nedlands,jo-jo's,flying squadron and claremont and reports "big bream under the canning bridge"
they also report "big bream under the causeway and tidlers are thick upstream from here"
makes you wonder where those guys have been for the last 5-6 weeks
ira if your'e after big bream pics and video might be worth giving these guys your mob.no. seen as there are so many around

This just suck
I'd reckon the source must think he's doing the rite thing by telling half of OZ about it. And I'd reckon he browses this site too for info that he could not get himself. Nowadays I don't believe reports from the local papers, only if I've seen the action myself.
I agree with Kingpin on those pricks keeping all fish of all sizes. Where the fisheries when U need them? Probably warming their big arse in their little cubby hole. As of July 1 silver bream is classed bread and butter with no size restriction and 40 bag limit. Well, there goes a great species to be exploited.

Happy Breaming (if somebody else haven't taken ur spot yet and raped it)

I can't comment too much at the moment as I am yet to read the article... but it sounds a bit f#cking rude

If the source of the information came from a 'guest' or unknown person browsing this site, then how guilty do I feel starting the first thread about the spot! (even though I didn't name it or give any clues).

My suggestion to keeping the mob from fishing spots is to delay posting pics and story for a week or so. most sessions like the boys had last week are one offs, and by the time the story gets out the fish are long gone.

I understand that after a great session that your jumping out of your skin dieing to tell everybody.
In order to protect whats left of a diminishing fish stock maybe it might be a good idea to delay stories and photos by a week or so.

This might just throw the mob off the scent, and what good is a fishing report if its out of date.
