Cando, what motor is your mate running? what prop and what wide open throttle? If he wants max top end then a 3 blade will give slight speed advantage but a 4 blade can run with a little more engine height adjustment and have better load carrying characteristics and holeshot.
Just make sure the prop and engine height allow you to achieve as close to max recommended rpm for the engine with fair average load.

Hey Macca, are you chine walking at 47knots?

I had the local dealer $h!!tt!ng his pants when I had to prove that the results of a heavy 90 4stroke on the back wouldn't suit the boat!

He's running a opti 90 with a 19p merc 4 blader 5650/5700 rpm... I think he is running to deep and needs to lift it hole.. going to try my 22p 3 blad and lift it a hole

thanks

in a word.....yes. quite scary but im workin on it. gettin hydraulic steering on soon which will be a godsend, and fiddling with props and engine heights in the near future....just waiting for the rudd bonus to arrive. WOT is too high at the moment so i think a change of prop would be nice. whats the fastest youve had one of your 640's at with the 90.....or bigger

bit off subject, but does anyone know where the hell the trailer pin is meant to sit while under tow.....tried to figure it out myself to no availe, then took it to the trailer workshop and they had less a clue than me. i think when reversing theres a point on the side of the hitch to stop the brake from activating, but the hole on the top of the hitch doesnt feel like its meant to sit in there, and it says the pin must be inserted before towing

640

Although I was very busy countersteering and trying to calm my passenger down, from memory 54mph with engine overpitched. That was not gps speed as we only had the ever unreliable pitot tube type speedo. Factory spec is 45-46mph with 75hp, 34-36mph with 50hp.

If anyone out there is re-powering a 640, don't go any heavier than 90 Opti!

This is WAY off topic, but just goes to show my prop is way under spec'd. I know my Makocraft 520 is a fat boat, but with 150 on the back I dont want those little Nitro's over taking me Maybe I should upgrade to the 200 on the back

Last classic, I dont know where Don started but we started 9th. He caught us at the 5 knot zone at the Maylands ski area.

Hook the trailer up to the ball, drop the lever down, now look side on and just aft of the ball near the bottom edge of the drawbar is a hole for the pin. The pin should have a small ball to the side of the pin's end which act's like a detent - that ball may be siezed so you'll need to free it up.

Hey Shane - pleeeeeeeease book me in for a ride - mmmmmm, 200 neddies on a 520 sounds fun!

If you give me the $'s to buy it Really do you need a V6 on the back of your boat

Going to put another 3" of prop on the motor first, when I can afford it.
