Yo Yo,

Try lengthening the amount of line you have out from the rod tip when you cast....Say down to the first (stripper) guide or even a little further.

Sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet as,

Phil

Hey mate,

Probably worth expanding a bit on what you meant by "trouble with casting"?

Are you finding it too light to cast or unable to cast to the right spots?

I find that the weight is just nice, with a reasonably good breaming rod, you should be able to cast it no problem.

Cheers,
Kenny

Sorry yeah I should have been more specific .... the problem is with accuracy compared to say a SP or a SX40 ... I just can't seem to put them where I want them.

If it was distance then the rod has to be light enough to load up, and extra line out as per mr Jagger's suggestion. If you are already getting the distance then the rod is sufficiently loading. Accuracy just needs practice with that setup.

For accuracy try a shorter amount of line hanging and release the line just before your rod tip points at the spot. Or pistol grip with index finger on the spool, point (aim as if your using a HAND gun) at target then flick wrist & remove finger enough to let line out... so finger points down and thumb is pointing at target. You can keep your index finger fairly close to the spool to slow or even stop the lure at the spot you want.

Or thats how i do it... Try asking Adam Royter, apparently he won some casting championship...
