Having a go on the Gold Coast

Hey guys I have been fishing for ages but only just started taking an interest in the whole bream thing. I fish out of kayak mostly and I fished the QLD round of the Hobbie kayak ABT bream comp. I was lucky enough to score a bit of advice on Sunny coast bream locations and techniques before hitting the comp and managed to land a fish which placed me pretty well.

The next round is on the Gold Coast (this is an area that I have never fished before - let alone for bream). I know that it is a productive area to fish but also has it's own pecularities in regards to boat traffic/structure etc. I am just not really sure on where to start. The comp is based around Budds Beach on the Nerang so I would not be straying too far from the starting point (maybe 3-4k tops).

What I'm looking for is some general pointers on locations and techniques that could land me fish in this area. I'm not after secret spots or anything like that just a general starting point to get me going. PM me if you like but I don't mind if this info is out for all to see as it can only create a stronger comp which would be heaps more fun.

Thanks in advance for any info that anyone could spare.

Kev

give a go around the old disused oyster farm at straddy just north of the northern sea way wall. If there isnt too much sand there the structure should still b there. Plenty of weed and baitfish hang around there. Should still b productive.
