Have a look on sites like DPReview, fredmiranda or google the lens with 'review' after it.

Personally i would be looking locally for your camera body. Purchasing overseas means no 'Canon' warranty and you may need to purchase an aftermarket warranty like the one offered by 'Mack'. Could end up throwing out the money you saved in warranty/repairs.

May also need to buy an australian spec charger which won't be cheap for a genuine one. There are some cheap multi use chargers around but still more money to fork out.

They aren't the best of lenses and 2 of them are pretty average. At around $1000aus delivered I'd still look local. All the guys I work with on the mag use PRA in Perth and they have an online store.

At least you have Canon lenses and a good warranty.

1 Year Canon U.S.A. Limited Warranty

Thats the scary bit

Mate for the US$883 that it costs delivered that is about AUS$1365.

You are far far far far better off buying local and getting the Oz warranty (extend it if you like) and Canon lenses.

This is a good buy if the price is still good:

Or more ball park prices you can use to strike a deal at your local camera shop:

If you want an alternative to canon I would be looking at Sigma. They make some really excellent glass that is quite comparable to the big two. I think usually the sigma's optically are as good(at the high end anyways) but they lack fruit like VR(nikon) or IS(Canon). They usually don't have the instant focus capabilities of the genuine stuff. An example is sigma's 70-200 2.8 this lens is the bread and butter lens for most aspiring photographers. Sigma's price is probably 2/3 the cost of canon and nikon with the same quality optics. Downside is the lens isn't quite as nice to use from what I gather.

Sigma lenses are value for money! Build wise there not like a canon or a nikon lens. Glass wise there pritty damn good!

If you can always test a lens before you buy!
