70hp yammy on a 435 hornet

just after some opinions would this be to much or would the hull handle it i dont think weight will be a problem just not sure i know it will throw insurance out the window but this is wat im thinkn of doing

Geez. its only rated to 50hp, have seen a couple with 60hp on them but not sure if any extra bracing had been done.
PS: How fast do you want to go anyway?

go a 4 stroke in the 30-50 range or Etec.
better for the environment and much more quiet!
2 stoke that size will suck the fuel and I imagine you are only using a portable tank.

its not so much speed its just that i know this 70 real well and its been treated like a baby and at the price its a great buy and i know i aint gonna have problems with it
the boat has a coustm 50l tank fitted under the floor as the first owner use to do long trips in it and had it built that way
thanks for your oppinions guys keep em coming i am honstry more worried about the structre if the welds wil be ok

i know people running 60 4 stroke yammies on the 435 without extra welds and have had no problems. I would think 60hp would be the biggest you would really need but if it has welded suport on the transum it should be ok.
I would really be looking at weight aswell not a smart idea to just look past weight.
chuck a 50 4stroke on it and you will be much better off

some people do run a 60hp 4st yammie on the 435ht but the 50hp and 60hp are the same weight so the only stress then is the extra speed (that isn't that much)
i was going to do just this but my insurrance said that i could not as it was over the builders compliance plate so unless you get quinny to get you a new compliance plate (and i belive you can but it costs $$$$) then a 50hp it was so i can be insured to compeate in ABT tornies

i have no dout the 70hp wouldn't be much if any more weight than say a 50hp 4st but i would be more worried about the extra stresses that could be put onto other parts from the extra speed and forces the 70hp may dish out

but if in dout go ask a quinny dealer or contact telewater them selfs
