My Dads Set-up.

just wondering what you guys think of it, as in quality and so-on.

before i say what it is, my dad and i (at the moment) aren't the kind of people who spend $100's on rods, reels and gear so it sin't top of the range.

it is a 3-5kg shimano sahara with a shimano sienna 2500 loaded with 6lb braid.

i don't know as much as my dad wants me to so can you tell me if this is good/okay/bad.

thanks,
snagged

btw, it is used to target estuaries, and also we were going to get a 2-4kg but none in stock.

dont be caught up in the you need top end gear,by the best gear you can afford and as long as it feels good to you thats all that really matters ,as you progress and can afford better quality gear do so then, dont get caught up in all the hype, keep your eye on the site some good bargains to be had,the gear you have will do the job

Your rods and reels are as good in quality as what you spend on them. Cheaper reels will last as long as expensive reels if you look after them. Its how they perform under different conditions that differ. You cant get cheap reels infused with beach sand, water and rust ect ect and expect them to last. More expensive reels are generally made with better components and can handle a lot more than their cheaper counterparts and can be cleaned less often. Rods are pretty much the same, spend more and get a better blank, spend less and the quality is lesser. If you want to chase bream, herring, whiting and flatties ect a cheap rod and reel is fine. In the end spend what you can afford and always match reels with different rods untill you get the feel you want. Dont worry about other peoples combos and fitting in. Theres to many materialistic people in this world. As long as your happy with what you have thats the main thing. Then again if you have the money and want to splash out on the best gear thats entirely your right to do so.
