just got back from my christmas trip to melbourne the other day and while i was over there i purchased sum 4 lb td sensor daiwa braid at complete angler for 90$.
i get back to perth and recomendad that dad get some, so i pop into bluewater and they had the exact spool of line for 52 dollars. now i dont want to be to rational bout it but thats an absolute discrace. complete angler should not be allowed to get away with that, charging an exrta 38 dollars is wrong and anyone in melbourne that reads this then i want you to realise that its a rip off and sumone should look into it for the sake of all other melbourne fisherman that want to purchase the line. i can surely say that noone else would like to be ripped offwhen stores such as bluewater are selling it for 52 dollars pay 90 or 52 dollars i know wich one id be going p.s excellent line by the way and very smooth on the cast and great on the load up

Mate you got robbed pure and simple that's B/S i'd be very unhappy about that, anyone that is purchasing Team Daiwa Sensor Braid in orange or white should not be paying more than $60 max...No matter what lb pe it is either, i have noticed in a couple of shops here that 4, 6, 8 lb is more expensive than the heavier pe which again is crap it should be the same price through out the ranges of line..Cheers

It's actually alot harder to manufacture a super fine line than it is to make a heavier line. Thats why lines like the 6lb Linesystems wax are more expensive than the heavier lines. I agree $90 is an absaloute rip off for that kinda braid!

Easy solution to this in future let your fingers do the walking
![]() Shop around because the difference in price can be huge as in this case ![]() The shops selling gear at over the top prices will soon feel the pinch if everyone else goes for a better deal elsewhere may even encourage them to be competitive![]() Zen |

That is a disgrace. I'd be writing them a letter asking for an explanation.

You gotta realise Compleat Angler rent their shop space (I am pretty sure, anyway). So they have to charge a bit extra to keep the business afloat.
You shoulda gone to DohDohDoh or Tackle World, it's cheaper. I bought mine for $50 at DohDohDoh... |

the shop hasnt done anything wrong. its up to the buyer to shop around to find a good price. did you not have the faintest idea of how much the line retailed for in other shops?????

Should just buy Nitlon Pe instead, $39 for 125m and is thinner than Daiwa Td Sensor.

I have a similar story with some camera gear. Walked in to the local camerahouse store a few weeks ago keen to buy a flash unit. Their ticketed price was $679. I wanted to see if I could get it for a better price knowing that I could buy it over east for cheaper, so I asked "What's your best price on...." The reply was "Whatever's on the ticket". I responded with "I can get it for $599 + post from one of the camerahouses stores in Sydney", with the intention of getting them to negotiate a bit. This was met with "Well, go get it from the eastern states then". Needless to say, I walked out and have vowed never to step in that shop again. Incidently, I then ordered from Sydney and the item arrived the next day costing me $599 + $15 postage.

yeh all points taken but yeah im not going to call up the store and start complaining, its just a lesson u learn and take on for the next time i go out shopping for something.i really didnt expect prices to range that much over fishing line.
nope didnt have the feintest clue on the price at the time, i just asked the boys what the best braid there was (sick of fireline haha) and they pointed out the td sensor ahh well the braids on my reel and its doing wonders for me so not big deal. just a bit of a shock wen i saw the difference
