Thumbs up Durko does Denmark!

On monday morning myself, Peter Bear, chris and Durko fished the denmark river for a couple of hours before heading home.
The highlight of what was a fairly ordinary session (compared to walpole's flats!) was durko's 40cm fish pulled from his first cast right under the main traffic bridge in the middle of town.
The fish took his gold sneaky scorp 35 that hard and with such a surge of water that it had us wondering wether or not it was a mulloway!
We had a bit more success further down near the paddle boat hire where the fish seemed to be gathering under the big trees waiting for food to fall off the foliage.
I tried fizzers and poppers but no luck, with all the action on attacks, scorp 35's and orgee's.
All fish could have easily been caught from shore, something to keep in mind if you're passing through denmark.

It would seem that way, 10 minutes earlier chris got busted off big time in some cloudy water near a runoff drain that was just before the bridge.
I reckon there's a few monsters hanging to have their picture taken lurking around that section of the river, might pay to give it a bit more attention next time.
Launching from the ramp near the traffic bridge might be a bit better too.
Cheers for all the boat time Peter, much appreciated from myself and chris.

Good Blackie Durko, check how blunt his nose is(the fishs not Durkos) you didn't get a weight didya, as it looks heavy. I thought you boys would of been lured by the smell of the pub, or at least the bottlo.

Well done guys and nice fish Durko.

Mate, you had a BIG fish weekend. Durko caught the biggest for the Walpole weekend at 43cm.

Didn't weight Durko's Chris, but there was a few at a kilo or over. Around 1.2-1.3 max I would say.

thanks for posting the photo salty, nice spot denmark i was spun out how the river run right through the town, you could easily stop off for a beer @ the pub.
poor chris we were all talking how this drain with drity water running out of it looked fishy, chris throws a lure right on the money & then the water explodes but before here could but some pressure on it the hooks were thrown.
thanks again bear for organising the weekend.

Geez, I've written that place off for decent bream for years (due to netting, algal blooms etc) - now i know different!
How many did you guys end up getting? Did you try further up from the bridge.

there is a canoe/dinghy hire there as well for people without a boat.there is some big silveries further down towards the mouth
near ocean beach and a few of those funny pink bream as well.
well worth a look as the wilson is twice as large as the nornalup inlet.
