collie river fish kill

abc radio reported a fish kill in the collie river along a 4 km stretch between eaton & australind this morning.page 13 of todays west have a report as well.bit of a shame as today is world environment day

one of the problems with the collie is that there is always fish kills. upstream there are farms and what not. leaves and cow droppings flow into the river after heavy downpours. as it breaks down algae grow and all the oxgen is removed from the water. last year we had one or two and the year before i think we had the same.

If the Collie hasnt already got a up hill battle another fish kill comes along. The stretch mentioned in the report includes our favourite spots. Hope they can do something to prevent or reduce further incidents
