How to work zipbait metal beats?

Just bought a zipbait metal beat in gunmetal cos they ran out of VX35s in the store I frequent. How do you work it? Same as a VX35? It's only got 1 hook and looks lighter than a VX35.

Yup lighter than a VX, can't really do the ripping style over flats with them. But they are a very sexy and noisy lure to use in a lift and drop method. I would suggest flipping the hook around so the point sticks up, makes it very snag resistant. Yatesy swapped it with a trebble and it worked well.

Thanks Shane. I've give it a good this evening. Have flipped up the hook as recommended. Noticed that it's a barbless single hook. Any challenges with hook up? I noticed some people changing to trebles.

Hey Ando, I saw photos of your metal beats with trebles, hence the question. Did you try with the out-of-box barbless and found it harder to hook up?

Mate rig either a size 16 or 18 owner stinger treble on them. Dont worry about two hooks, I tried a beat up one that i have with a second hook and the action was significantly less. Being so small, they have the benefit of sinking slower. Let them sink give a short hop halfway down incase something is following it down. Then short lifts and drops with them. Have the towing clip coming off the middle hole. I caught a 4 fish for 4.22kg bag on them in perth earlier this year, which really kicked off interest for these hot little lures. I dont own any other sort of blades so i cant tell you if they do the same thing, but these things work really well. I like the brown colour and the white/pink tail ones. But the green lightning pattern would be really good too, just got to find a place that has any left....

Ilovebreams you can fish them straight out of the box with the single barbless it's a good quality heavy gauge so wont bend or straighten easily you might drop a few but the ones you do land will be easy to release and wont be damaged, if you want to make sure none are dropped fit a treble the size Brad & Ando suggested.

Brad still have plenty mate and seems the retailers are swamped with blades at the moment and a lot of our customers never bothered to take them on which is a pity because they are the smallest lightest on the market and wont drop like a rock and mantain that vibration even on very slow retrieve, if anyone wants to know what shops do have them please feel free to drop me a PM
