Loomis question

Hey crew,
I have the SR842 (glx) and 841 (imx) at the moment but am thinking about getting the DSR8200. Will the dropshot cover different applications to the SRs? It seems like the DS is more for plastic fishing but i use both my SRs for plastics and HBs but if the DS is a better plastic rod then would be keen to get it.

Thanks for your help

Yeah mate, I share your 'train of thought' the DSR's have a faster action with a greater taper which equals more butt strength and soft tips. Like you said though, don't be thinking that either rod can't do both...

I personally do prefer the SR series for crankbaiting with mainly mono or light braid. The DSR's I have the 820, 8200 and 2 GLX 820's and they fish braid for blades/vibes and soft plastic baits.

You won't be disappointed with the rod...

Cheers Shauno

Have have both the dsr and the sr 842 and my preference goes to the sr 842.
But when throwing the heavier jigheads (1/8)I go straight to the dsr.

Thanks for the help fellas,
So the general consensus is the DSRs are better for plastics?
I am still seriously tempted to get the 6400 in IMX based on the rave reviews everyone gives that rod when they own it. I dont think it will take the place of the DSR though, if on casting distance alone...

Any other ideas on the application of the DSRs v the SRs?
I mean do many people have both because of their different application? I am only really interested in the 1-3kg DSR, the 2-4 seems a bit too heavy for bream SPs.
