Advisw on stuck jigging rods
I had a problem with two of my jigging rods(shimano deep jig 400 & Smith Ninra). After a days fishing it is impossible to separate the 2 sections of the rod, as I do not want to damage the rod by holding the guides is there a better way to free the 2 sections, the sections were not jammed tight and this is the first time that this has happened. I noticed that it will make thing worst if applied wax or lube to the rod.
Has this happened before and what is the best way to separate the sections? (hot water or cold water water)Also any advice on how to prevent the above happening again. Your help will be much appreciated, Dan |

I know Sewelly will have a way of doing it, besides that my 400 just stays together these days. I havnt been able to get it apart for ages and have stopped trying pretty much.
My guess will be something like hot or cold water or a bit of lube..... im sure the big fella or someone will give you the best way of seperating them. cheers

if possible drop the whole rod in a chest freezer for an hour...this will reduce any heat swelling of the fibres. then get a 2nd person, both put on some rubber glove, get into a nice open area and play tog o war...straight pull, dont twist...you will find its just a bit of crud of graphite powder that has built up in the ferrel that had caused it..due to the high tolerance these rods are made too there aint any room for crud in the ferrel hence its STUCK !!!
2nd option is to be content ith a 1 piece ! lol

Liquid nitrogen...
disclaimer - you may end up with more than 2 pieces...
