as good as a Loomis maybe better(?)
Pflueger Supreme rods Dropshot models IMHO are on par with Loomis if not better. I have the 7' model, titanium guides, split cork grips, superb cosmetics. Cost thru Mail Order Tackle $380. It amazes that Pflueger do little to promote these rods instead almost keep them secret. I have checked out lots of tackle stores that are Pflueger dealers non of them stock the Pflueger top range (or middle range) rods (??)
Anyway check them out, worth a look. (btw I have 4 Loomis rods) http://www.shakespeare.com.au/Pflueg...phiteRods.aspx |

Yes, very nice feel to them, good components and much better blanks now. Their parent company bought All Star, so now they use All Star's blanks. Coincided with All Star taking their blank program off the market too. A pity: their blanks were quite good.
On par with Loomis (if not better) though? What models (and Loomis graphite grade) are you comparing to? For build quality I'd say yeah, probably. Judging the blanks would be a lot tougher to make that call. |

Hi steve, obviously with them being your sponsor you'd be in the know, so do Phlueger have a 7'6" 1-4kg rod or similar? It has to be long, i.e. 7'6". I've had my heart set on the Daiwa Infeet for a while now but there's nothing on the site that seems to suit my requirements. Is there something that isn't on the site or is that it?

Yes the Trion are excellent value and widely available. The Trion Tornament is a nice rod too, I have only found one store stocking them, as for the Supremes I failed to find any stores stocking them. Via phone and e mail MO Tackle gave advice on the Supremes and hence bought from them.

Hi there Fisherman1the Trion Tournament 7'2" in 2-5kg would be as long as they get. All the models that are on the site are all that is available. i will talk to them this week and get back to you if they have any new models coming out. the closest in the supreme is the 7'1" 2-4kg. then there is the 7' 1-3kg supreme and the 7' 1-3kg Trion I use the 7'2" 2-5kg Trion tournament and the supreme 7'1" 2-4kg goth great rods looking at geting the 3-6kg 7' Trion for some heavy work

Last month they were 1/2 price at a closing down sale. Nice guides but a little fragile.

care to elaborate on where was the sale?? Guides are as fragile as you treat them. They are titanium alloy frame and with a single leg they are not meant to be strong. The point is to create a very light frame so as not to hinder the sensitivity of the blank.
Ive got a 6'6" 1-3kg model and it makes a great HB rod. Ive been using it as a vibing rod, reasonably stiff for a ultralight model but awesome sensitivity. |

honsu- I'm pretty sure you'd have heard of the sale. Bluewater in town closing down.
Stuffed around & missed out on getting a Heartland 7fter for $84 & was considering getting one of the pfleugers but noticed that one of the rods already had a leg bent a little. Put me off. Got your point dude- buy nice stuff treat it right. |
