AAAh whats up doc?

On a serious note the rod looks as if it could have some legs in it. If not the color will be enough to turn heads

Well the seat's nothing more than an extremely skeletonised exposed casting reel seat. Cut out the middle, shape, trim the threaded barrel and install to the required position. The spinning seat looks the same, just without the trigger (cut off?).

Gotta say I don't see it being the most comfotable seat set up in a spinning configuration.

Looks like a bit of fun.

Dont ever try to use it in the "Yarra" below "Dights Falls"
Or in the first 18kms of the "Maribyrnong"

Dont ask why - conclusive tests have been carried out and the results are irrefutable.

Even if there are too many rabbits

I have looked at these rods, mainly for their lightness, rating and the fact you can balance them with weights in the butt! Both on the "LTX" and the "Boyd Duckett" models.
These are a great bang for buck rod!
You cant buy rods with specs like that off the shelf here. The colour wouldnt doesnt bother me, hell i bought a sol years ago!

They are constructed of a cellulose extract according to the specs, I'm guessing they are fairly well tested and coated with a resin.

It the coating is scratched or worn would the cellulose absorb water?
I think I'll let other people test them for a few years before I move away from perfectly good graphite.

I don't think I like total skeleton reel seats either. They look "Cool" on the bare rod I think they would be too thin for comfort. Might be good for kids with extra small hands?

They have been out for a long time in the U.S, alot of the bass guys use them. so testing has been done alot! And you must have some money if you'd spend that much on a kids rod!LOL

Wasn't really thinking about those rods but the grips look like they might be good for small hands. Don't generally spend that much on my rods (especially when you take into account freight) let alone the kids.

Good rods for kids (my age kids are 9 and 5) are the clear tip rods, harder to break when they lose concentration and stab the rod into the ground walking or turn and hit you with it.

Do you know how long have they been out in the states? I saw them mentioned as a promotion on one of the US store sites in the last few months and I think they were mentioned as new then. Maybe the testers have been playing with them for a while, but I think I would like to see how they do in the hands of the general population.

Chops in one of your posts you mentioned balancing weights for the handle. I think I saw advertised 12 months or more ago a fenwick or browning series of specialist rods with that feature. Have seen any in shops though, allthough stores in my area are a little behind, except for Mo Tackle and its so big its hard to know whats in there? Almost need a compass in there to find my way back to the counter.

If you google "carrot stix" "carrot stix LTX" or "e21 carrot stix" You'll find heaps of people that use them and have talked about them, they've been out since late last year.
America's a big place and it seems too have taken a while for them to spread.
