Shimano VBS on Baitcasters

Hey,

I have a Shimano Cardiff 100, I used to be able to cast perfectly with all of the weights on. My Friend then told me to take them all off as you would acheive better distances. After removing all of the weights, i was able to cast further, however, i keep getting birdsnest even with braid and it is much harder to get the long distances. I don't know if it is just my lack of casting skill, or if it is the VBS. Any help would be appreciated.

Cheers

i had a Japanese version of cardiff A and it's called axis version 2. u'd better keep the brake on them to be honest. 1 brake's what i normally use for long distance casting.
VBS on their top of the range reels like calais/antares r more subtle and sensitive so u can adjust the brake to a degree there's little brake force.
