Hmmmm

Ok now this may sound silly, we have a olive oil spray in the kitchen for cooking, quick spray across the box of hard bodies works a treat.

Nice and easy

Hi man,

When you are out in the boat havea small bucket of fresh water and when you take your lure off the line just drop them in there.. that way the salt comes right off and no rust.. and also at end of day give them a wash with fresh for the ones that you have not dropped in the bucket. (ones still on rods)

the best way i have found to avoiding rusting trebles is when you go fishing have a small tackle box (quarantine box) to put your lures in after you have used them and when u get home give them a quick rinse under the kitchen tap or hose while cleaning your rods works a treat for me and should work just as good for you.hope this helps.

cheers brad

As everyone above has said: wash with fresh water ASAP after use (I always wash my lures as soon as I get home).

I also keep those small dessicant packages* that you find in new shoe boxes (raid any new shoe box your Mrs brings home) in each compartment of my tackle box, and I can honestly say my hooks never rust. I also replace all my hooks with good quality Owners, so this may also have something to do with it. But these little dessicant packages really work extremely well. I have about 10 in my "current use" tray.

I've also heard that rice works in a similar way absorbing any moisture like the dessicant packages.

*dessicant packages: these are the little paper or cloth packages with "Do Not Eat" written on them, about the size of a single packet of sugar.

I hope this helps

Cheers

Karl

I use the rice thing and can vouch for it...but the olive spray is one I might try soon too.

I'm far too lazy to clean my lures after each use...

I use a little box to put all my used lures in then whem i get them home i wash them with luke warm water hang them to dry then every coupple of outings i give my box a quick spray over with inox

a 300g spray pack lasts me about 1 year and i spray everything reels rods lures stuff around the house for $10 it is a good investment

I hate rust why spend all this cash on gear and not protect it ??

Yeah I'm definately looking forward to the Decoys coming out! i saw the samples and they were amazingly sharp and nice fine guage, but i could not bend them at all! I've already told Gary to get me enough for all my lures

Quite interested to see these new Decoy trebles. I like their light split rings very much.
Interesting to hear they are very resistant to bending, hopefull this does not equate to them breaking if and when a bigger monster decides to latch onto a nugget of a lure.
