Muzz being the old man he is tells me it is like the old Mitchell (about 30 years ago) and you hook the line around the line roller after you cast rather than it automatically hooking around when you close the bail arm.
Correct us if this is wrong................. |

Think your right Stu same concept as the Van Staal reels but I may be wrong because it was explained to me in Japanese

Not being sarcastic mate that's the latest Stella "not released yet" apparently it's been completely redesigned and they've beefed up the line roller and "no bail arm"

It's the new Stella SW, for heavy duty saltwater work. Beefed up for large angry salty fish. 4000 size and up. Bail-less works just fine: no opening or closing of the bail arm, just push off with the finger and hook it for casting, then hook it back onto the bail roller when retrieving. Best for cast and retrieve methods, not subtle jigging which introduces slack line. With the fish they had in mind, there's not subtle jigging anyway!!!

Thanks for clearing that up Shortlite, with my limited Japanese I struggled a bit to understand a lot of what was explained to me. As far as I know the whole Stella range has been redesigned and the price has gone up
From memory the reel pictured will retail in Japan for 100,000Yen

oh sorry then, just that it looked a bit weird with the as the 08 model on the shimano website had a bail arm. Are these different models or something? or is it just a concept?
