Take a kid fishin'

For Melbourne aglers, after some advice please...

A mate of mine has asked me where his should take his friends kids (visitors to Australia) fishing.

The proviso's are

* land based
* within 1-1/2 hours of Melbourne (mate lives in Chelsea)
* reasonable chance of catching something. Doesn't matter if they're small, just need to keep them amused.
* pleasant! (ie. not ugly like the Warmies or lower yarra)

Now, I know plenty of spots but they are either too far away or are not the sort of places I would take someone to if I am trying to make a good impression!

Any suggestions ?

mebe steep point chasing 30 kilo mackeral of the cliffs hahaha jks

narrh on more serious side just look for a blowfish free area and a safe place for the kids to fish from say a jetty with small species that kids will have alot of fun with eg whiting bream chopper tailor or baby pinkies
sum places near the mouth of the yarra would be worth a shot

Question Do they get sea sick?

I dont mind taking kids out,just as long the parent's,or,parent is there with them.
I alway's go out from the Patterson River,&,that's alot closer to Chelsea.

Let me know if you're interested.

Gae.
