Shoplifter loses out BIG
Heres one you might have a chuckle at.
We had a guy come into our shop and decide he really wanted a drag knob from one of our display reels. Anyway as he stood there screwing it off, looking to see if anyone was watching him, I was standing in the corner out of sight. He got the part off and proceeded to walk off with it when I commented, "I can sell you the part if you really want it." He looked up, turned around and screwed it back onto the reel. I walked up to him, and after a few words he left the shop. This is where it gets good. That day a huge contracting team had started the EXPENSIVE job of painting our entire shopping complex, and as it turned out the shoplifter, who was adament on taking a $4 reel part, was the owner of the painting company, so shortly after a quick phone call to the property managers the painters were removed from the premesis. I recall our shoplifter commenting to me, "You can't do anything about it". Sweet justice to see a tigharse lose a $30,000+ contract over a $4 reel part.
