I had time on my hands, so out of curiosity did a search on this model. It looks like it is a model made for the Japanese market, hence won't be found here. The only place outside of Japan I found it was in Singapore for AU$600+. Price in Japan about AU$590, but I would find it difficult recommending doing business with these stores. I did so recently with one that was generally recommended in the Fishnet forums, but 7 weeks down the track I have had to launch fraudulent transaction claim through my bank. I doubt that I will ever do business through a Japanese seller again. I am over $600 out of pocket on this deal, and will have to wait at least another 2 months to get my money back. In the meantime I have purchased the reels from Campbells at a considerably higher cost, so currently I am out of pocket twice.
Cheers,
Andy

If I remember correctly,

You can contact Ranger 175C by say, PM. He's got a 1003. He might be able to help you there.

Yes, Brian has just gotten a 1003.

The Exist 1003 is available from Plat.co.jp
They are a reputable seller from Japan, in fact, one of the most highly recommended online Japanese tackle stores.

They've also got the new Luvias 1003 as well. No magnesium in this one: it's constructed entirely from a newer carbon. Same carbon the Exist's rotor is made from.

Couple of reports indicate the finish on the Exist isn't as durable as on other reels.

Mate i have used Plat 3 times without a hitch. Some times the language barrier can be a little bit tricky like when i had to explain why my delivery address was different to my residential address. I bought 2 Certates of them in one order so i have spent a bit with them. When you email them they respond very quickly which is good and the delivery time has never been more than a week. I have ordered 2 of the new Luvias' from them also. I have also used Japan tackle twice with out a drama.

While I did not wish to publish the Japanese retailer publicly at this stage, because of legal action, but it is also not fair on you guys in case you get caught as well.
The seller involved is Ginrinpeche, and the EBay seller Matoken Date. I believe they are the same company. I will not go into any details until it has been resolved, but fair to say "buyer beware"
Cheers,
Andy

Thanks CK. That's the beauty of shopping with the credit card. I will get my money back, but it will take months.
Cheers,
Andy

I must admit i dont pay much attention to the postage costs. Plat do charge a postage fee and a handling fee. I think it was max $25 AUS. If you email them with an enquiry of how much it will cost they will let you know. It goes by the weight of the package. Like i said they are quick to respond to emails. The only tip i can give you is to use basic english so there is no confusion.
