I've watched the squidgy DVDs and the Berkley DVD and yes they do all plug their product (surprise surprise), the first squidgy DVD is pretty basic and as you progress through there are more different techniques and info. A good place for beginners to start. Won't turn you into a champion overnight, but give you things to try.

I also bought the Bushy and Starlo's On Soft Plastics book and found that while they do plug their own product in the book, they mention the others, there are heaps of photos showing other products in the mouths of fish and they deal with the conflict of interest in an open and sarcastic/humerous way.
The book is the better option with more info, but there is still no substitute for going fishing.

Maybe someone should bring out a dvd with presenting lures, latest and greatest techniqes of using lures for bream, where to find them in summer and winter etc. Adding soft and hard lures.

In the very beginning I watched the Breamin videos over and over until the tapes broke! I learnt a hell of a lot from them just by watching the different anglers fishing and enjoyed watching them even after the 1000th time.

I still watch all of the DVD's that come out and think that they all give info in different ways usually you will always see or learn something new so it is never really a waste of money and in the end we all just love watching fishing anyway.

i wouldn't discount the squidgy dvd's. I have parts 1 and 2 and found them useful. I'm not sure that you need to be told anymore than what they did. It is widely known where you should fish for bream. They told enough I believe anyway. You wouldn't want to be fishing around too many snags with sp's anyway because you would lose too many. This is the territory for HB's in my opinion. The important thing with lures of any kind is you need to vary your technique for each day until you find the right one so watching the dvd and getting the basics is enough to get you started until you start getting the feel of whats going on.

Actually I had no idea. Even 3 years after I bought it I had no idea. It is only in the last 4 months that I have learnt. I have found the only way to be successful at catching on SP's is to put in the time. There is no way in my opinion that you will learn how to use them if you go fishing only 1hour a week. I used to fish once a month and it was always too hard to bother with SP's. I now fish at least every second afternoon because I live near the river. Since then I have to say SP's are my number one choice even over bait. The tricks for where to catch bream are the same if your fishing SP's HB's or even bait. In the middle of the day you want structure. In the feeding times usually at either end of the day or high and low tide fish flats as well. Look for drop off's and holes as these will always hold fish. DVD's are good but there is no better way than actually spending the hours. The principles used for most fish on the squidgy DVD applies to bream. Start with just a simple rod lift and then let the SP settle to the bottom and take up the line slack and keep doing that over and over. When you have caught your first few fish doing that you will be getting the hang of it. ONLY then should you vary the action.

This is my opinion and isn't necessarily correct but it is what worked for me and it's what I tell my mates when I take them fishing.
