water restrictions and boat cleaning.

Hi just curious on how people are washing their boats down due to the water restrictions??

Local car wash on the way home. $4 soak/soap/high pressure rinse. Perfect

car wash the only way to go there's a 24hour car wash in williamstown on koroit creek rd

Are you guys talking about those automatic car washes - or hand car washes? WHat do you do with sounders, leccyes, etc?

there the car washes were u do it yourself with high pressure hoses i normally take my sounder off and clean it with warm water and spounge leccie's are fine after giving it a good rinse just spray a bit of inox or wd40 on all the moving parts on leccie

Why not install a deck wash on your boar as well. Doesn't cost that much and means you only need to rinse the boat with fresh water later on. If you're fishing fresh then it's even more water saved.

Whats' deck wash? I recon this is for big boats only?

i just got back from my local fishing club ( williamstown and newport angling club ) on williamstown beach and was discussing this topic down there at the meeting and i got told by another member that works from melbourne water and he said that the rule is: if you have a corrosive substance on a vechicle ( car, boat etc ) you are aloud to spot wash it and as salt is a corrosive substance you are aloud to wash your boat down as long as you use a bucket or you can use the water from flushing your motor aswell.

Any boat can have a deck wash fitted. Great for just rinsing things off.
