The real drag

Hey guys just had an intresting thawt on drag pressure and how much drag a 1 kilo (for example) bream could pull. Obviously because things weigh less in water it will not pull 1 kilo because thats what it weighs does anyone know a rough estimate as to what a fish of a kilo would pull? Another factor may be the species of fish but to keep it simple we'll just keep it to bream. Be intresting to here u're thoughts on this topic. Further more does anyone know a rough fomulae toweight to drag pulling power ratio? Intresting topic i thought

cheers Fatbream

Duncan,

A kilo fish can pull weigh more then one kilo of drag, it may not weigh 1kg in the water , but when it decides to turn its head and run and your 6lb is screaming off whilst ur 2-4kg rod is bent over. you do the maths. fish have the ability to use there weight to perfection , it starts to make abit of sence now.

I agree with Daniel. Just to add to it I reckon when a fish realises it's hooked the adrenaline cuts in and it goes hard and will pull more than its body weight. On dry land a human can (usually) pull more than his/her body weight on the ground. Our fully charged line of hose weighs 90kg and we are expected to drag that
