target soapies

ha im wondering how to taret soapies in the swan river rigs baits any help would be appreciated and area thanks

hey,
what i usually do is take my 12 foot rod with at least 30 pound line and just set it up as you would for tailor, or use the same rig as you would for catching bream on bait.

i usally use a filet of boney herring or mullet on a gang of hooks.
ans set your drag.
theres a few around at the moment around ashfield and surounding areas.

fishing for mulloway down here on bait the mulloway can be quite spooky and shy.
that why you fish with an open bail arm and NO weight attached with a fillet or half a fish (salmon trout gun bait)
my mate grayson just wrote an arcitle for w e s trn angular december january, about mulloway fishing.. teaches u the basics very good read..

yeah thanks for the replies and what if the blowies are taking fillets can i use whole fish and what whole fish /triple hooks or snelled

anyway, try and fish fairly light, up to 20lb around pylons
