Hi folks,
Just wondering what is everyone using when targetting Bream, i am thinking of using Braided line 8 LB Test @ 1lb Mono Diameter. Cheers

which line is that? sounds thin
personally i would go with a 4lb braid for bream, ive never had any bream break 4lb braid so i think its overkill to use heavier cheers luke |

I've used 8lb Matrix Pro and only recently started having problems. As for it being overkill, i disagree, just fish it like 4lb if you want to, then you have a bit of extra turning power for things like sambos and stuff if you go offshore. next time (or maybe the time after that) I'm going for 6lb coz i think it's a good balance between breaming specific and light inshore work.
No worries using 8lb! especially if it's a good one like Power Pro (not so much Matrox Pro) Catchya Tom

4lb Nitlon PE braid is what I use on all of my Bream reels now, it's great!
It's not too thin though, the 4lb is the same dia as 4lb mono. HTH, Nugget.

4 lb Nitlon is WAAAAYY thinner than 4 lb mono mate. I like the Nitlon as well, and currently have 6 lb and 8 lb spooled up. I also have a spool of 10lb FINS.

TD Tournament Orange Braid in 6lb rating. Great line with only one (not so bad) wind knot after about 5 sessions. Managed to untangle it after about 2 minutes of fiddling
Was on the flats so it took a little longer than normal. Still a great line with nice diameter, great knot strength and very limp
