I've got the 310 Rover and have had a few problems with it but I have doubled the max hoursepower on it to cause that. I've been happy with the hull design and features compared to the quintrex but now have a new 15hp 2 stroke Merc on it and although she boots along she used to blow ribs and especially seams all the time too. Nothing bad but neede to be fixed up. I've also got a full floor and deep cycle battery and it tops out at 24knots which is pushing it way harder the it was ever designed for and we cross melville water and the bays up at Lano all the time in it. for a 310 it is suprisingly stable under way at full flight and we've only had it on it's side once which wasn't the hulls fault, otherwise it stands its ground well and pulls out of everything i put it through.
I payed a engineering works to beef it up for me and since then all the welds have held mint and she doesnt leak a drip. Thats after 7 months or so of thrashing. My uncles also got an AllyCraft Family and for the harsh treatment that takes it hasnt had a problem. He Launches it from the beach a couple of days a week up at Lano and always has it high and dry on reef and smacking around on the sand. His on his 3rd gearbox on the engine and countless stegs on the outboard but the Hull has held up beautifully. I don't know how but it does. He takes that a long way out after dueies and it rides awsome due to its width. I wouldnt hesitate to get another after seeing what the put up with and the practicle design of their hulls. Just things like a bit of extra freeboard and deeper seats which AllyCraft offer standard make them stand out. Hope that helps, Ben

Hi,
I have the Shadow Oasis 4.65. A bit bigger than what you were chasing but I am very happy with it. I have taken it everywhere from the rivers to off shore in all sorts of weather. Not sure how the Deluxe compares to the Oasis but if it is as strong as mine it will go forever in the rivers and lakes. I am running a 60hp Yamaha 4 stroke on mine. Regards Steve |

thanks steve, it does look like the hulls are the same design in the catalogue just you have the extra length and layout, does you boat have good stability when your on the bow??
and does the boat roll to its side badly when you stand against the gunnel??

Steady as a rock mate. Only time I can make it lean a bit is if two people get on the gunnels.

Hi,
Just picked up my Shadow Deluxe 4.25 1 Week Ago, Have put a 30hp Yamaha 3cyl On It. Just rinning her in at the moment and im more than happy with the shadow already, Having owned a 4.10 Rhino for a few years and knowing the workout it handled with ease, it was a pretty easy choice for me, The Shadow has all the basic's and now i can go fo my life fitting her out the way i want it, will be off in a few weeks to get the rear platform welded in and bowmount fitted. She is deep enough for me to work some palegics inshore on the odd occasion, & bream/bass in the rivers where she will find most of her time over oyster racks and rocky shores, cheers elbak>>> |
