Shimano Aspire
G'day All,
Was wondering if anybody had any info on the new Shimano Aspire 1000FA. I am thinking of maybe getting one shipped here to the states......Like how its looks. I think its the same body as the Stella FB series. Any feed back or direction would be appreciated. Shortlite.....your always on the prowl for new reels seen this one inperson yet? Ranger 175C/Brian

Same body as the Stella, but in aluminium, and incorporating more of the SR features than the Twin Power.
I'd say it's a juiced up TP rather than a down dressed Stella. Ahead of the Sustain though. For some reason, the Sustain always seems to be sitting by itself in a corner when the high end Shimano's are under discussion. You don't hear about "new" Sustains or improved Sustains. Stella, Aspire, Sustain, Twin Power I think the order will run in. I dunno if they've hit the shops here yet. Apparently they're on the market in Europe though. Only a matter of time. I gotta say, IMHO, they could have come up with a better paint job.

Hi Ranger, the Aspires have only landed in the 4000 size so far, still waiting on the 1000 and 2500's.
I have not forgotten your other enquiry so when they arrive I will let you know on the reel as well if you like. Ian
