Daiwa SOL 2000 spool

I'm going to get a TD SOL 2000 but since all my other Daiwas are old, they don't have ABS spools (plus they came pre-spooled with line). I am mostly using my Okuma Epix EFS-20 but it's a little worn out. So I was wondering, does the outline of the line run parallel to the spool, or do I put more line towards the bottom of the spool to make the outline run straight down.

P.S. Don't be afraid to reread this as the question might be a little bit confusing!

Thanks for any advice

Yes the spool tappers the line so there is more line on the top of the spool rather than the bottom. This aids in casting distance.
But i have NEVER seen a sol sold new with line on it

thats the idea of the ABS spool, the front lip is slighlt larger in Dia, than the rear of the spool, and the line packs high @ the top and follows the contour of the rearward tapered spool, thus mostly preventing light lines, especially braid from falling of the spool if loosly packed, thats why when the ABS spool was introduced it was such a godsend for the developing GSP line using anglers...all but stopped the braid falling off after 10 casts !

Does that, mean that the line falls off after 10 casts? Because you said it was a "godsend" but then made it sound like the ABS spool is rubbish by saying the line falls off after 10 casts.
