gday jonesy
what i use its platypus platnium leader in 8lb leader and normally use 2 rod lenths, and i just use the double uni knot.

I go with about 1-1.5m of 6lb mono, connected to my fireline with a 7 turn uni knot. It all depends on the area you fish and its brutality on leaders.
