Abu Garcia Ambassadeur 10003LP

G'day all,
I recently bought an Abu Garcia Ambassadeur Bait Caster, here is a picture of the reel: http://www.great-lakes.org/graphics-...r%201003LP.jpg
I've only got a few questions today.

--Questions!--

1). Life: Does this reel last quite a long time, or will I be looking for another Bait Caster in 1- 2 years? Is there anything I can do besides the obvious to make its life expectancy a little longer?

2). Line: A few hours ago I went off to the local tackle store and bought some: "Silaflex X Copper Braid" I bought 200m of 10kg so thats about 22.5lb, this copper braided line is the equivalent to 4lb nylon line with a diammeter of 0.15mm. It was $40 but I got it for $30. Have you ever tried this brand line, what were your thoughts on it?

3). Rod: I need a decent rod. At the moment I'm using my mums boyfriends old Shimano Whiplash. Now, I pretty much spent all my money on Bream stuff *Hey Kamikazeghost* =).
My price range is probbably $100 MAXIMUM!.
