USA Bass Boats

Not that I'm really in the market for a new boat, but I just been looking on ebay in the US and they have hundreds of bass boats for sale on there. Just wondering how feasable it would be to ship a second hand bass boat out here, they have a company on there that says they ship any vehicle internationally...Dunno what kind of tax you would have to pay to get it into Australia though. At least don't have to convert to right hand drive!

Any thoughts?

Something you may want to be very careful about!....you never know what your getting or in what condition...

I know of a certain pro breamer on the east coast that recently imported his own second hand bass style boat, only to have the outboard shat itself in the first few weeks.....costly lesson that one!

By the time it was all repaired add that to the original cost + taxes, he could have got a brand new skeeter fitted out and ready to go for a few $k more!

Yeah could be a tad risky, if its cheap enough though and take into account the fact that the motor might be a heap of crap it may be worth it even if I have to replace the donk, maybe get a half decent hull at least for a couple grand US or else save up for a newy.
