Line roller noise

Just noticed that my Certate makes a bit of noise through the line roller when retrieving.

Anyone else noticed this because it's happened on other Daiwas that I have, I always clean Line roller after use and put a spot of oil on it. Have a feeling it's Fireline that does this any comments please.

Corroded bearing.
Also with very fine diameter lines there isn't enough friction between the line surface and the roller surface, 'cos the contact area is so small, and the line infrequently slides over it instead of making the roller spin.

what kind of noise?

I'm hearing a bit of a squeaking sound on my SOL whenever a fish pulls line. And i oil it and clean it after each use as well.

Dont think it's roller bearings guys because reel has only been used 3-4 times.

May be Fireline scraping against line roller, thinking of doing away with the fireline and giving Fluoro line a go

You don't expect that from high end stuff. I must say its disappointing to hear that sort of thing happen if it was the roller bearing. That said, I've not had that happen to my certate or Caldia kix.

Fireline is "lumpy" and makes noise running over guides (if its quiet enough to hear it). I've switched to FINS just to avoid the noise.
