My second rod CHoice??

Hey fellas
Im after a second combo and ive already got the reel sorted,a 1500 daiwa exeler.But the rod really is proving difficult to choose,im looking in the $200 maximum range.
Any ideas and/or suggestions?

Ps has to be 2 peice,and either 1-3 or 2-4,but 1-3 has to be fairly crisp-no noodles!

I got a 1-3kg 2pc black diamond Clear Cut for $220 @ my door from there end of financial year sale. Its a sweet little rod matched to a 1500 laguna and is certainly not a noodle! I know it is just a little out of your price range but, is definately worth the extra 20 if you can get it.

Hey Nathan your options are reasonably limited at under $200 BUT there are a few ok choices mainly as Ruski said the rack raiders also the sicsticks.There is alot of choice however just over $200 might be worth saving for another week or so

Have you checked out the shimano Tcurves, they feel like a pretty nice rod and have a nice action too. If you look around, I’ve seen them for just under $150 in my local tackle shop, but I think they RRP for around $225.

Yep for the extra few dollars you get one hell of a rod, i caught a nice mully first trip out with my 1-3 kg 6' Clear Cut

The Shimano rack raider is a 3-5kg rod, so that's a little outside the range you're looking for.

The Shimano Finnesse Bream is 2-5kg, which albeit is that range acts like a 2-4kg rod. It's very nice and not expensive at all. And it'll handle 3kg trevally without too much problems (first hand experience).

But, if you're looking for some of the better middle-end market rods then the Pfleuger Trions are the go. I believe they do come in 2 pieces. They have a fast-medium action and easily take the grunt of snapper and the likes if you're ready to match your skills with the fish.

Just remember though, in getting a two piece rod, the grunt of the rod differs to that if it were a one piece. There are other subtle differences but it sounds like you're certain on getting a two piece rod.

nathan ive got a all 6'6'', and all two piece!!!

- Strudwick Sofboz, 6'6'' 1-3kg 2pc
- Black Diamond Clear-Cut, 6'6'' 1-3kg 2pc
- Berkely Dropshot, 6'6'' 2-4kg 2pc

i find the clear cut the best out of those, although i just recently got the sofbodz and have not used it yet!!! the dropshot is way too stiff for my liken but from memory u already have this rod? i`d go twenty bucks more and get the clear cut well worth the money!!! sofbodz is also good but i will get bac to u when i use it and cast with it!!!

good luck one ur quest for ur rod but go the bd cindy will always look after u!!!
