my first fish on plastics

Hey I got my first fish today
I went to the boat shed at Maylands today and the first cast got a hit so hard I nearly lost the rod, no hook up though, 2 casts later I got my first fish on plastics, it was a medium size flathead which swallowed the whole bloody jig, I did the Rex Hunt trick and cut the rig off and let him go to swim for another day, and I didn't kiss him either., no other hits so I came home, at least I caught something at last, if any of you are fishing in the Maylands area and catch a flathead with a plastic and jig in it's mouth remember , I caught him first.........Nifty

no photo

No mate. No photo. I am getting used to this so the camera will be with me in future, especially on Saturday when I catch the BIG one, hey I was stoked when I saw that flattie even though he was not a big one, I parked at the perth end of Tranby on Swan and just walked and cast, it's a real good spot and is just great to be out there trying and enjoying myself... Nifty

Mate,
2 other places well worth a try with the plastics at the moment would be the flats between the causeway and Claisebrook Cove (Perth side) and the wall between Barrack st jetty and the rowing club. Still a few fish around there.

Oh, Craig and I also had a ball under the Polly Pipe bridge near East Perth as well.

Have a bash and good luck.

Nifty,
Makes all the articles and literature you've been reading suddenly not just a load of BS, right?
The softplastics you own have an amazing way of multipling faster than any substance known to mankind!!!!!................one day you'll open your tackle box and HOLY SWEET BABY JESUS
it's CHOCKERS
gotta go ,the tackle shop closes soon
thanks

gday
its always good to get ur first fish on a softie and you can pretty much predict that it might be a flattie as they will eat nething. but they put up a pretty good fight on light gear my first fish on softies was a flattie and it got my heart pumping and the excitement of the strike. i was wrapped even though it was a small flathead.
