Sorry if I am hijacking this thread, thought it was kinda re the same topic.

Well since the Swan Fish Kill started, who has been fishing the Swan? This is the first weekend I haven't had a fish and dying to go as I am now on holidays, but wondering if it's worth going out. So did anyone see anymore dead fish and reckon it's worth going?

No stress Carol. Just something I've been trying to encourage.

OT is OffTopic

Man, I just got insulted by the Moderators!

Anyhow, just to say that I am now on holidays and plan to fish every single day! What a wonderful way to spend my Long Service Leave! I will be fishing mostly on my own, as thats how I like it. However I would like to explore the Canning, as I've only been there once in the boat. So if anyone who is familiar with Canning, must be familiar with the Cannning , wants to fish off a boat, please PM me. Should benefit both of us! However, being on holidays I don't know my exact plans so please provide a contact number.

Cheers LR

...Dear Lone Ranger Trophy, I went fishing this avo, and yes there's still plenty of fishes in the river! 1st cast and got a 32cms bream, dropped a few of God know what, heaps of taps but then I am not used to fishing SP so only caught one. Also caught a whiting on my stinger hook! And that was through shorebashing.... So I think it is worthwhile for you to go out! Cheers Lone Ranger

I will bite Carol,
Dror and I fished Saturday for 2 fish. We started downstream then moved up. Soon as we rounded the bend at the MAylands Yaught club there were thousands of dead fish and the water smelt awful. Its not going to be fun fishing for the next couple of comps.

Thanks for biting Bubs! The rain on Monday night must have helped in some way maybe. I fished today and did rather well indeed (iwithin my standards ), -bream, heaps of flatties, and dearly beloved blowies!

Went for a bash in the Swan today and the interesting thing I noticed was the colour of the fish I caught. They were mostly very dark, like upstream colour. I fished between the Belmont sand ramp and the causeway. Usually fish are quite light in colour in this stretch.

Are the fish coming downstream for winter or are they avoiding the mess upstream?

BTW I caught 4 size between 27-30cm and the rest were rats but all but one were very "black"
