Drilling Ali?
Hi Guys...
I want to change my old bungers bung from rubber stopper to screw in bung. I would need to enlarge the hole in the hull, currently takes a size 8 rubber bung. Can I just go at it with a drill or should I be using something special? ...Cheers Shane Last edited by Shane; 06-03-2006 at 11:46 PM. |

I'd say go for it with a smaller size drill bit than the size you need, then carefully open it out with a round or half round file until your fitting fits just right. Also helps if you back up the area you're drilling with a block of wood to minimise tearing from punch out.

my boat was the same i just used the drill and sloted the hole out a bit then cleaned it up with a small rat tail file
