Oldskool!

Managed to talk my old man into dusting the cobwebs off our trusty lil' dinghy today. About to take it out in half an hour and hit Redcliffe Bridge up to around Lilac Hill.

Should be interesting considering Dad's going to be using bait while I work the snags with lures. Luckily for me he's happy enough to move spots when I tell him to, haha.

It's a tiny 12 footer with an 8hp Mercury on the end. It was made God-knows-when, and is known as a 'Doggett'. I can't find any information on these boats... all I know is it's OLD! If any of the Boat guru's here know of any info about these, I'm sure my Dad would be interested. Below are a couple of snapshots of the little beast.

Will let you know how I/we did this arvo

Speaking of showing up ... that's something the fish didn't do!

Got a few hits, no hookups, runs, or landed fish. I think I'm better off sticking to land-based fishing

Craig, I fished that area during the comp and had about the same sort of success. Was the water still murky ? What colour lures did you try ? Buggered if I could tempt much !

Rosco - yeh, the water was still hell murky. I used the following lures today:

JG Oargee - one hit
Gold 52DD Scorp - two hits
Gold/Green 35 Sneaky - 3 hits
Green frog colour/pattern 35 Sneaky - 2 hits

Funny thing is, I always work these same areas every 2nd day by foot (land-based) and always get at least a couple of fish (although small and nothing to brag about)

Keep at the boat mate and you will get onto them soon If you think your boat looks old i will get a picture of the tub we use
Made about 1960 by Namco, never heard of them before but I know Namco makes computer games maybe the same brand but probly before there time. did your dad do any good on bait or was he relagated to driving duties?

G`Day Craig,

That dosn`t look to bad at all, as long as it gets you on the water for another perspective thats the main thing. Your old man will be most suprised when you hook your first.

Guys,
Had a pretty good week this week.

Took Bubba out and we hit Barrack st and Herrison flats and pulled a few. Dropped too many as I still haven't changed my back treble. just lazy.

Took Craig out today and had similar success at the flats near Bunbury bridge. Craig even caught a tarwhine. Never seen them up that far.
