The bream go crazy for them. They have a good action (if the tail isn't kinked). I recommend them, but not highly, I prefer "real" plastics.

Cheers

Thanks. Are the not "real" plastics... e.g. are they live, should I put'em in the fridge?

Thanks

hahaha nah not live mate.
The gupls as I understand it are basically a foodstuff, compressed into a mold. They therefore taste and smell like real bait. You dont need to refridgerate.
A lot of people into lure fishing are against them as they are not 100% artificial.
I guess you either love em or hate em.

They're alright...

In Townsville, the bream will eat next to nothing else.

Rig them on a heavier than usual jighead, or else the tail won't flutter on the way down. They feel leathery, but because they're made of real food, fish actually WANT to eat them, and they have NO trouble at all tearing one to bits. So, if you're fishing anywhere near things with teeth or just inordinate amounts of 'keen', you'll probably mow through a packet pretty quickly...

Wll, I didn’t mean "live" literally - meant "live bait". Sure no "live" thing will survive a day in my local fishing warehouse :-)

Thanks to all for responding. As I see the gulp stuff could be a "killer" sometimes... in a long term I see myself as a "lure" fisher so perhaps gulps will find no place in my bag... but I'll give them a try for now - as so far I haven't got much luck in catching bream (got a steady stream of flatties though) so gulps could help me to gain some experience... and (fingers crossed) confidence.

Gulps are bait. Shaped like a lure, but are bait. Fished like a lure (sometimes), but are bait!

They work very well. The scent and feel is so different from any SP lure.

Correction Owen, the bream up in Towny do eat other stuff as well. Freebie bread berley, chips, bitten off lure tails. Oh, 2" power minnows and a lone suicide fish on a 2g jighead + BM.

Gave them a try today... no bream (didn't have a boat anyway)... but flatheads went crazy: 1st time in my life I've seen flathead chasing the lure on the surface.

Will try to find a bream place to test.

Never!!! Hahahahahaha!!!

But I do feel the vibes. Found 2 7g Bill Lewis Rat-L-Traps in my box of tricks here, and the 3g sizes and a couple of RNR04's will be on the way with my new reel, along with a couple of the smallest sammy's. And maybe some plastics.

Did the math, and WHOA!!!! With a couple of Sammy's for Terry, I'll have to cut back on stuff. Also, the 3g Lewis Tiny Traps aren't stocked by the particular mail order company. Scrapping the little
Sammy's. Getting the RNR 04's

The plastics kit is a 400 piece kit though......... Now to find the perfect jigheads to go with 'em.
