Texas Rigging

Hi guys.
How many of you are using texas rigging these days, and are you using tickers with them?
I'm pretty keen to get right into it and figure out how to catch good numbers with it. I now have the ticker kits, hooks and placcies, just wanna know how many of you guys are getting good catch rates.

Cheers

Dave

Dave

Haven't used the Texas rig much but have been using the "clicking" style for Carolina rigs in the Swan and it has been working well. That is a bead with the sinker to produce a clicking noise.

I would be interested in seeing what the new gear you have got is like.

The style I'm using is similar as you'll see in about 3 days... ...however the kits I've got come with the bullet weight, bead and the brass ticker. They rig up in that order, with the brass ticker/facetted glass bead giving off a very interesting ticking sound.
I'm heading out in the morning with my old partner in crime, Geoff to hit up the old breamskis for some fun.
I'm definately going to give it a whirl...prolly start off using the Meat Heads I've got, and see how we go from there.
We are heading out were you mentioned today Craig.

Duck 1 Brad 0

Yep

It wasn't even clickin' and Brad scored a mallard.

You might need more than fancy beads in the Blackwood Brad. The locals outfished us 2 to 1 with prawns on the weekend, but that still only accounted for 6 fish.

My tip is to throw brown eyeballs into the paper bark snags downstream, below the ferry crossing and hope the tarwine don't get them first.

Pics

Photos coming this weekend Brad, remember to allow plenty of fishing decks for the NB.

Not kidding about the eyeballs, pumpkin seed and skin colour killed the pig downstream on the weekend. Even black eyeballs scored in crystal water.....
