Yep made in Japan.....Sweeeeeet little reel, was playing with a couple today. I dunno which other Twinpower you are talking about but the ones I was playin with today were much nicer than an import one that I saw. The import I saw was a plastic bodied P.O.S.

The ones out now look the goods that for sure. Oh and it has a pretty decent little drag on it too.....about time shimano released a small spinner with some decent drag power.
I need a new 1000 size reel so I think I'll be gettin me a Twinpower.

G'day fellers

I've been using one for a couple of weeks, the 2500.

Sweet reel, nice drag, and looks good too

Would recommend them no probs at all.

Great Reels

G'day All,

I also own a Twinpower and like it very much. I however anfter looking at the photo think that the AU version is different then the Japanese version 1000SR I have. Mine has the body of a Stella FB, the bail and rotor from a Stella FA......The reel is only 10th's of an ounce heavier then my Stella FB. I have enclosed a photo of mine........If anyone has seen the 1000 size please let me know if I am correct. Just a Shimano fan and curious.

Brian, slightly different, but don't know if that's due to the different sizes. Side cover plate is on the opposite side, , the back piece on mine goes slightly further up, and your spool hasn't got the holes drilled in the side and no gold on it.

Just had a look at the parts list for the 2500FB
And it shows the 1000FB, so they're definitely different, the spool is ported on the 1000 as well.

Cheers

The Australian models are not the same as the Japanese domestic version. If they were.. they'd be twice the price

This might be worth checking out too.

It has a smaller gear ratio, 4.3:1 to be exact (which equates to approximately 52cm per handle turn).

Hopefully I'll be getting one myself.
